About
I m Senior Lecturer in the Deptt of Pali,University of Calcutta.The Department has completed its century just last year.The department was full of stalwarts like Benimadhab Barua,Nalinaksha Dutta,Anukul Banerjee,Dipak Kumar Barua.
I have enjoyed two scholarships firstly from 'Jwaharla Neheru Memorial Fund,Delhi ,then 'Junior Research Fellowship 'of U.G.C.,Delhi.I have done my phd. on 'Buddhist Teachers of Ancient Bengal in Nalanda Mahavihara:A Study.'
Now I am enjoying my teaching profession,where I teach some portions of Vinaya pitaka, Dhammapada,Abhidhammatttha Sangaha,Prakrit Grammar, Buddhism of Central Asia ,Nagarjunikonda inscription etc.and always trying to update my knowledge from related modern research materials.
I am guiding my research students on the topic of 'A STUDY OF DHAMMAPADA FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF APPLIED BUDDHISM','GREEN BUDDHISM:AN ASPECT OF APPLIED BUDDHISM'.Also I am guiding M.PHIL students to accomplish their dissertations successfully.The entitled topics which are already passed them out 'PANCASILA AND ITS IMPLICATION IN BIO-ETHICS AND POLITICS','ETHICS OF BUDDHISM:PALI LITERATURE & APPLICATION'.
